Hello

I'm looking at purchasing a 2011 expedition. I was wondering if anyone knows why the molding around the sun roof. And is rust a common problem inside the door. Not on the door.

Thx SDF

The moulding seems to be a common issue, I am not sure if the material starts to sag after a while, pulling it out from the trim (leaving the gap) or if the material shrinks over time causing the same effect. Either way, in older expeditions it seems very common to have the gaps appear at the corners of the sun roof.. No idea about rust, I live in Texas, so not a lot of rain and no signs of rust around my sunroof..

I'm forever pushing that rubber outward all the way around. It's been like that for many years.

Skip the 5.4 3 valve! Unless phasers where change recently, AVOID!

The phasers weren't really a major problem by 2011. That said, I don't have a lot of love for the 5.4L 3V.
