I live in the Midwest. We had the -30 windchill on the 23rd. I went out to grab some items from the back of the vehicle.
In the process of opening the liftgate, the rear spoiler cracked down the middle. (Photos included)
Upon inspection I noticed that instead of the spoiler going under, it went over the roof. This never happened during the warmer months. I’m assuming it’s due to the cold.
I would encourage other expedition owners to be aware of this issue and to observe the spoiler as your open the liftgate in colder climates.
I only have powertrain warranty. Do I reach out to Ford?
Should/can I make an insurance claim?
Lastly, any idea how I can remove the spoiler? (For repair/replace, If none of the other options are viable)
It seems like a crack in the spoilers plastic housing, nothing underneath seems damaged. So I could potentially replace it.
