I’m having a dilemma for a camping trip planned for this weekend. I have a 7000lb travel trailer I need to tow about 300 miles round trip.

My F150 has a wheel bearing making noise for about a month (diagnosed today) so I am a little hesitant to take it now. Would I be better off taking the wife’s 2019 Expy Max without HD tow? It does have a trailer brake controller, but I know I would be over the 6,000lb tow rating. Roads are relatively flat and I would be taking it slow with either vehicle. Or do I just cancel the trip altogether?

Which failure do you fear more: failed wheel bearing or an overheating vehicle? IMO the bearing can fail anytime. The Expedition probably won't overheat. There's some margin and you can reduce the risk by reducing speed, provided you don't hit a stiff headwind. Make sure your WDH is configured correctly.
