9005 is the right type for XTL low beam. If someone has money to blow, check out the GTR Ultra lightning from Headlight Revolution. I'm still on cheap Katana LED set that I bought two years ago.

My first night driving my expedition I thought the same thing. Those stock lights are a disgrace.

I bought some led bulbs for my lows, highs, and fogs and now my expedition has the brightest lights out of all my vehicles.

Amazon has several bulbs you can buy. Installation is very easy and there are YouTube videos on how to do it.

Good luck
can you share the brand and model of bulb you purchased, will be a great help

My Allas just arrived and I’ll be installing them this evening. I will get some before/after pics and let you guys know what my experience was.
Hoping it is as plug and play as others have said but since mine is a ‘21 you just never know?CDF71431-B0DB-46C1-8914-DCC55799C09D.jpeg2FDE1706-EB37-447D-8515-44C9E319AAAD.jpegF99B4C51-0781-435F-B7B2-078B885357ED.jpeg

@ViperVette i installed the same set back in Sep 2020 to include Alla fog and park/front turn signals switchbacks. To date no issues. Love them. In the rear I went with Sylvania LED taillight bulbs since they are designed to work best in a halogen reflector housing.

I used Sylvania led lights for all the rear end lights (license plate, reverse, running and signals)

Having not done this before, I’m guessing the wiring harnesses included in the box go between the new bulb and the vehicle plug? I was thinking the plug and play was simply unplug the halogen bulb and plug in the LED bulb?
What do I do with that extra harness etc?
Does it go inside the dust cover? The instructions are very minimalistic that came in the box.

Here are some shots of the factory halogens using my iPhone 12. Somehow it makes the factory bulbs look much brighter than to the naked eye.
IF they were really THIS bright I wouldn’t change them!

The harnesses came connected to each bulb on my set. But yes. Connect bulb, then harness, then truck. You might have to flip the plug if it doesn’t turn on. Also I just threw the harnesses in the housing behind the dust cover and let them hang. Could probably tape them or zip tie to something but it’s tight up in there. I haven’t noticed any noise or problems from them hanging.

No issues after you remove the top screws on the wheel well liner for access. I actually just remember removing the whole liner. I remember having to loosen the little screw on the high beams to adjust where the light twisted into the housing. Going for that straight up/down, diodes on left/right.

Yeah just turn your wheel to the side and take out the 3 or 4 4 or 5 mm bolts. Kinda gotta tug/fold the liner over to the side but give you enough room. You either have enough room for one hand and a view, or two hands and no view.

Again, make sure you test them before putting it all back together. The plugs fit both ways but only work one.

Well no good deed goes unpunished. After considerable effort trying to get access to the factory bulbs - and a trip to the hardware to get a tool to remove a plastic retaining clip holding the wheel liner firmly in place -I find out that the bulbs that were sent to me apparently are backwards from what they should be.
I removed the factory low beam and then pulled the new LED low beam out of the box and after working to get the ends matched up, I find out it will not plug-in at all. Arrrgh!!!
When I looked closer at the plugs I noticed they are not the same. See the first picture.

The bulbs from ALLA that were marked ‘low beam’ have a plug-in that matches the factory high beam bulb and vice versa. Has anyone else experienced this? See the second picture. In that second pic, you can see that although the plug end matches the factory Low Beam bulb, the tag on the new bulb says High Beam.A2B4EABA-ADF5-4787-AB7C-8C7ED86D4E3B.jpeg
Advice?

Been awhile since I installed mine. I remember that the manual had a misprint saying the low/high beams are bulb size ***, but in reality what was listed for low was really high beams & Vice versa. So for your issue try putting them were the wire harnesses click have the diodes Parallel to the deck/ground & see how it turns out. I think this happened to me but, 1.6 years has passed.
