I guess the big drawback to the HO engine is that it requires premium (but I’d wager it’d be fine on 87, just take a performance hit). Fuel mileage is probably identical in the real world. For those that question why they offer a “performance” version of a 6,000 lb SUV well the short answer is that people are buying them. So why not offer them and charge a premium?

I ran regular in my standard 2019 400hp platinum for quite a while then switched to 91. Mileage increase and performance improvement is noticeable if you drive both fuels enough. I just do premium fuel now the cost difference isn’t much but the bump in range and performance is worth it.

I’m sure the H.O with the wick turned up is even more noticeable especially the torque.

I use 91 in my HO. It is a performance engine and when fed right, gives the performance when you need it. I don't do (many) 0-60s with it but the extra power when you need it is most appreciated. On the two-lane state highways around here in northern Nevada, it is nice to have the extra power to pass a line of trucks or two halves of a mobile home with ease. Don't even have to floor it!!

Had an empty tank and had up with Supreme (regular was out) and do a long trip. Given my trip was in the winter, I didn’t see any difference at all. No more power nor more range. I am at see level and drove 600km at below 0C, but did have wind.

In the summer months, I was getting 20+mpg with 91. Winter months I have been getting around low 18 mpg. Big difference. Its your choice in what you put in your tank.

Yep, but I just can’t see that supreme makes any difference in the winter time at all just cruzin around, not towing etc. I mean she just dumps gas into the cylinders when it’s cold out. Winter fuel also has different energy per volume than summer fuel. I can see it making a difference when hot out, heavy towing and high altitude as the ECU can advance timing.
I am getting as low as 11.1l per 100km on the highway and as high as 13.6l around town (short trips) with regular gas on the 22” with dedicated winter tires on. My sticker sez I should get 10.6L/100km. Maybe in the summer time with highway tires.

Same with my 19 plat 400hp. We do sea level to 7400 often there’s definitely enough difference between fuels to notice if you have enough miles on each one to see the difference. The H.O has got to be even more noticeable

Are you saying the muffler has two separate chambers running though it? BTW, you have excellent taste in automobiles!
I can't confirm the chambers, but it's dual into it and out of it. Which is the same as my Raptor R.

Thank you, it's an addiction lol

It is a true dual exhaust. Part of the performance package. The whole idea of the HO tune and turbos is to move air quickly (quicker) through the engine and out the exhaust. The dual exhaust negates back pressure and allows amazing acceleration.

Hello, currently looking at an Expedition for sale:

On the window sticker it has the 303a equipment group (stealth package), however under "optional equipment" one of the line items shows "STEALTH PERFORMANCE EDITION PK NO CHARGE". I have not seen this before.

My understanding was that you had to go with either 303a (stealth) or 304a (stealth performance), though this particular example seems to have the extra hp/tq but does not have the red calipers, dual exhaust, etc.

Could this have been accomplished through a special order? Attached is a screenshot of the window sticker. It is a MY2023. Very curious. Thanks.

So did we ever figure out if this has the HO engine? Do you have the whole sticker? Was this a Canadian vehicle by chance?

Yes, Canadian vehicle. Does that affect the possibility of it having the HO motor without all the other aesthetic options? Thanks

It sometime affects what options are included in certain packages. But this one is weird. Seems almost like a misprint to me. But without having the whole sticker or pictures of the vehicle it’s hard to confirm.

To me it is a Canadian vehicle (Alberta) with the stealth appearance package, not the stealth performance package that has the HO engine. That is also reflected in the price as the stealth appearance package is CAD 6900, while the stealth performance option is 10k. The SPP comes also with the bigger 22 speaker Bang and Olufsen sound system, red painted brake callipers and dual exhaust.

Nah… that one doesn’t have the HO engine… the option price gives it away. I’ll see if I find my sticker tomorrow.
