towing to much

You may want to think about a deeper trans pan that will help get rid of some of that heat...I bought this one for mine was 130.00 and it really makes a difference..especially with the cooling tubes actually going through the pan...just a thought...

The big question that I would ask is what gear ratio is in the back end of the truck and what size tires are on the truck. These two factors will affect the temp that the tranny is going to be running at significantly. Also keep in mind that the limiting part in towing for the Expy is the tranny. If you want me to go into more detail, just ask.

I got my pan from Summit racing...its a vendor called Derale Cooling products..I pasted a link below...also someone posted a Ford website that you can enter your Vin and get most of the info on your truck...will someone please chime in here...if no one does you can go to the Ford dealer and give the parts counter man your Vin and ask for a print out....this will tell you also which trans you have and the gear ratio.
