Not necessarily, 2015 models were not available with limited slip. For 2016&17 the EL standard with 3.73s was equipped with a limited slip. Limited slip was not available on trucks with 3.15 or 3.31 gears.

Nope. Our 2015 EL Limited had LS. Confirmed by axle code, and door code.

Why Ford does what it does sometimes I have no clue.

Checked the 2015 Ford Brochure and sure enough at least according to the brochure LS not even an option for any sub models.

2016 & 2017 3.73LS standard on al EL models and an option for all others.

Here is the 2015 Ford Expedition towing guide for any members curious. Limited slip was not an option available on any axle ratio within the model year, ratios available were 3.15, 3.31, and 3.73 open diff

https://secure.ford.com/resources/ford/general/pdf/towingguides/15RV&TT_Ford_Expedition_Sep30.pdf

And these have been proven to be inaccurate multiple times in the past.

Not sure how our 2015 ended up with it, as it was a Ford Certified used when we purchased it. It came from the factory with it, because it was on the door code. It was an 4x4 EL Limited with 3.73LS.

I saw it, put 20K miles on it. The LS definitely came in to play more than once.

Making the blanket statement that no 2015’s came with LS is wrong. Absolutes will always get you in trouble, especially when humans are involved.

Who knows maybe the original owner had some pull at Ford. Had his Expy built with a previous years rear end. When I worked parts for Oreillys years back, their were parts I couldn't match up to save my life. I'd try up to 3 years before, and 3 after, and wouldn't match up. Happens!
