The worst is that it starts in gear.. The torque converter. I installed the auto stop eliminator. Works great. Stupid idea. One time my son was getting out of the car and I was not holding my foot on the break hard enough and the car re started surging forward.

That could be dangerous. The Hill Start Assist is a good safety feature: when you come to a stop for [unknown duration] and it engages, you can take your foot off the brake and the truck stays braked until you hit the accelerator. it does this whether or not AS/S is engaged.

I read where you can disable it in Forscan as well. I immediately shut it off on my X as soon as I start it. Once the warranty is out I'm disabling it.

So if a person disables autostart and adds bambi mode in forscan are you saying ford extended service contract will deny paying for covered repairs?

What I've found is if you alter anything to do with drive train, electronics and custom programming other than radio, after market parts, poor personal service and you have any Ford warranty, they can choose to void it.

It has been my experience that a modification has to be directly related to the part that failed. I believe it is the Magnuson Moss Act that applies. But I may be wrong as I haven't kept up with it.

You could always use sport mode. It will disable ASS.

The Magnuson Moss Act allows for the consumer to perform do-it-yourself repairs as long as good records are kept and OEM parts and fluids are used.
Example: I change my own oil. As long as I use the proper oil and filter, I will not void the warranty.

They can not even detect the disablers. The warranty issue has to do with the obvious like air intake or exhaust.

Auto start will destroy the truck, it’s a stupid concept.

Yes, but you’d still have to put it in Sport Mode every time you start the truck, which is the main annoying thing about the auto-start/stop button.

Is there a way to make the Expy default to Sport Mode all the time? I’d LOVE that.
