So I have 2006 Expedition 5.4L 4WD with a 3/2 level.
I am in the process of rebuilding the front end and suspension and a little bit of the drivetrain.
In the past couple weeks I have added new struts all around and a leveling kit and new sway bar end links and tie rod ends and upper control arms.
It had the steering rack replaced with a remanufactured one about 6 months ago as well.
I know that it needs a passenger CV shaft as it is leaking some grease so I'll do both sides' CVs.
Also I'd like to do front wheel bearings as they seem worn (rears are new replaced with steering rack) and the front 4 wheel drive actuators.
Will also be wanting to do the brakes all around as they are really worn and very warped.. so rotors/pads and maybe calipers.
Will also be doing all the u joints in the drivetrain as I'm getting some acceleration vibration.
Also have a new updated IWE solenoid with a cover so no water gets in that I'll install with this rebuild.
The reason I'm doing the rebuild are due to a harmonic him that gets loudest around 40mph and dulls down at other speeds and shaking brakes and acceleration vibration and some creaking/popping while turning and sometimes braking and also I have a loud snap noise when I hit the gas in 4WD on wet/mild terrain that I will be fixed with this slight rebuild...
Off the top of my head that's as far I can think I'll go for now as everything else seems O.K. And I know that is a lot to read but any suggestions input is absolutely greatly appreciated!
Here are the parts I need to find in high/durable/good quality for the lowest price (main reason I made the thread):
--Full HD brake kit (truck will be on 35" tires soon and I would like more than stock stopping power)
--front 4wd actuators
--front wheel bearings
--front CV shafts and boots
(I have a guy who will be doing the u joints for me as it would be an extreme hassle for me to them at home)
Once again any help is greatly appreciated and accepted whether it be on how to fix the noises I hear driving the truck or what brand parts to go with. Thanks to anyone who can help out!
Will be happy to answer any questions
