Just wondering : are the inside pads interchangeable with outside pads ? Still ? Seems that F150's and Expees have special shaped inner brake pads ; at least on my 2013 . fothco

No, mine were marked driver/passenger and inner/outer.

I would think there is a problem.
Back brakes should last 60,000 plus miles.

Most of all the breaking comes from the front.

I'm at 38k miles and rear brake pads were worn. Had them replaced at a dealership. Suburban driving, but the first 20k miles were done in NYC, so lots of stop and go.
