Question came up and wanted some opinions *(sorry for the previous misspellings and errors)*
I once had a serviceman (owner) provide me a quote on a home item for installation. The man showed up in a brand new, suburban sized Escalade (I know he owned it because we also spoke about him towing his boat with it, etc).
At the time, I thought his work quote was too high and later called my friend about it. I made the comment that was why I guessed the guy was able to afford a $90+K truck (etc).
My friend said it should not matter what the man drove as to the quote because it simply might mean he was a successful business man--and who cares if he drove a Porsche or a Ferrari--he might simply be a car enthusiast.
I tend to feel that any sign of deliberate excess during certain types of financial negotiation simply has bad optics (I don't judge people--but I do observe and make my considerations based on many other factors).
Of course some here are driving $50-100K+ machines and maybe even some use them as work trucks, but in a case where YOU were looking for some type of service, would an excessive vehicle cause YOU to pause and have an effect?
