I'm planning to get a 25" overhead DVD unit for my new Expy. Just want to get your thoughts on the following:
1. Would it be really too big for Expy?
2. I was debating myself on compromising rear-view mirror view, even if I put a 10" screen it's going to block my view, so rather I'd go for a larger size.
3. Would it be too heavy for the roof?

do it...i'm going to upgrade mine as well...I was thinking a 20"...currently have 12" flipdown...you will have to brace the roof regardless due to nothing being there to attach the monitor anyway...so don't worry about the weight...I should have mine in right before christmas

I'm bit worried about losing the a/c vents in the 2nd row... The 25" unit width is about 23.5" and 17" height, which will become an issue with the space, also I've the sunroof... any thoughts?

Why can't you do headrest tvs and make it look oem. Personally a 20 something drop down looks ghetto

Just because Wal-Mart is having a super sale on flatscreens, does not mean that you should mount one in your car...
Bottom line, your car your choice. Hope you are happy with the end result no matter what direction you go.

I just installed one in my buddy's Astro van. It's a decent unit, built in sound sucks, and the fm transmitter is a joke, so you need to use the line out to an aux input on the head unit. We haven't tried it with headphones yet, so I can't say how that works.

It's not that heavy, but you really need to put some 1/4" plywood behind the headliner to anchor the screws.

His kids used it on a long trip a couple of weeks ago and loved it. No matter where you sit in the back, even the 3rd row, you get a good view of the screen.

what you talking bout solisimo...

Have U seen the donks with the drop down tvs that take up the whole back seat along with blocking your view? Do you think that looks good? There is no need for anything bigger then a 12" in an expedition. Anything bigger is not needed and more of a "hey look at me" thing. Some call it hater vision so that the other people driving can see it clearly. Me personally like functionality and two invision 7" headrest w factory matched colors is much more functional then a 20 something inch drop made by some Chinese company. The fact that you have to add plywood to brace the damn thing is just ridiculous.

I put a 60" in my 13' last weekend.

\PICS

That's a nice TV. I sell LG and am actually sitting in front of one of those right now.

I'll be following suit in a few short weeks with a 60" Sharp. I like their ability to be controlled through the network port by my Control4 system.
