I did not realize shifting into park before shutting off the car unlocked the back doors.
Nope, I haven’t noticed because I turn it off upon each startup lolA whole lot of ******* and moaning bout nothing. Except for autostop/start the locks are set up for passengers safety not driver convenience. The autostop is for saving wasted fuel. Anyone noticed how quietly AND QUICKLY the auto start activates the engine and trans engagement?

How long did it take you to get so stupid?Nope, I haven’t noticed because I turn it off upon each startup lol
I don't give a rat's ass about any of that. When I buy a car and spend that much money on it everything about it better be driver convenience. They have 10, 000 to $15,000 worth of extra add-ons all about technology and convenience? They want to give you Wi-Fi digital screens and tablets and power ports everywhere including up your you know what.A whole lot of ******* and moaning bout nothing. So if I spend less money and don't pay a premium for a vehicle then they have the right to aggravate me by not giving me convenience features?? That's kind of loopy logic.Buy a less expensive vehicle. Hundreds of tests have proven locked doors save lives. Poor thing, has to push a button. Such hard work. VERY difficult to do.

Care to elaborate or is making vague blanket statements just your thing? How long did it take you to get so stupid?

Auto Start/Stop is also able to be disabled in Forscan to save you the trouble of hitting the button at each startup. I disabled mine within the first week of ownership and it has worked as desired.Nope, I haven’t noticed because I turn it off upon each startup lol
I have made some changes in Forescan but left the ASS available so I can use it if needed. It’s literally just a switch right next to the emergency brake... I’ve hit that button so often that it’s now part of the normal start up procedure, it’s second nature at this point. I may use the ASS if I’m sitting in a drive through or something but where I live I don’t deal with any stop and go driving or red lights and four way stops don’t warrant the use of the ASS. Plus the ASS doesn’t save enough fuel for me to feel it’s worth using.Auto Start/Stop is also able to be disabled in Forscan to save you the trouble of hitting the button at each startup. Your argument seems to be with the NTSB. The National Transportation Safety Board is the main control of these decisions. It has jurisdiction over the manufacturers in these safety related decisions. Humans may not always like what's safer but that's the way our ELECTED government works. Have a nice day.I don't give a rat's ass about any of that. That's what test drives are all about! Most the stuff they built today is crap design anyways. Maybe 50 or 60% of it hits the mark but they come so far from doing a near-perfect job that they could do if they would listen to customer input and give us options.
I am the one who decides about passenger safety regarding when my doors are locked and unlocked not the auto manufacture. I am the one paying the bill to fill up the tank I will make that decision too about whether fuel is wasted or not and how much.
Me me me me me, yes because that's what it's all about when I'm going out there shopping for a new vehicle and they're trying to woo me to give them a huge amount of money.
YesIs there a way to change the door unlock so they unlock when shifting into park or shutting off the engine as opposed to opening the driver's door?
Yes, with them, the government for Cafe standards, and the manufacturers for the entertainment and convenience that has nothing to do with safety.Your argument seems to be with the NTSB. We see that humans as a whole are stupid because every great civilization has eventually destroyed itself. Probably because most of them just can't get along and follow the smart person's idea.
Too many people have too many ideas and philosophies as to what's important and the problem is one of them either becomes mainstream or the law and it gets imposed on everyone else. No govt should have ever been able to force someone to wear a seatbelt in their car. They could have required airbags and auto seat belts to be in there but if a person chooses to disable them or cut them out they should never be able to make that illegal. You can try your best to make things safer for everyone and you can urge safety but you should never be able to force what you think is safety.
i just went out and double checked. if i have engine running and shut it off the doors do click to unlock when i open the driver door
not sure if they always do this,
carjackers, thats a wild bunch..i have read many reports if the door is locked, they just shoot you and break it, its pretty violent crime
unless they are just stealing the car.
neighbor in florida had his jacked as he pulled into his driveway, it was very violent and bloody. they caught the guys but it didnt help the neighbor much as he was pretty much a veggie after wards. after that we started paying attention to who is behind us and who is in our zone when we park anywhere.
these turds followed him home from the hospital where his wife had just given birth. They abandoned the car a few miles away, the police said because the amount of blood and pieces of skull probably made it not worth keeping .
You assume right.I can't quite tell if this post is satire or not. I assume not though.
What's wrong with mandatory seat belts? Or making people safer in general?
Not quite there are always limits and everyone has different thresholds. I I am against magazine disconnect and manufacturers who put manual safeties on all their guns without the option to not have one.Toby
Following your thoughts weapons should then be allowed to be owned, carried and used indiscriminately by anyone, including youngsters and gangsters at any time in a way they would see fit. Sounds like the time of anarchy in the series called the PURGE. If safety is not cared for by elected government there is no safety and anarchy reigns supreme.
