keep it. It's super frustrating but it can be fixed. Find a reputable transmission Shop. $4228 to do it right. I have 2020. was about to trade it at 72k miles after Ford's ABSURD! $10K estimate. Ford shop wont rebuild, they replace the entire thing...which sounds great except you can't confirm if you are getting transmission with updated parts or one that is sitting in a warehouse with the defective CDF Drum. You may be back again for the very same problem in that scenario. Ford dealer is a ripoff every time. Took it to a reputable transmission shop. I've included parts and labor docs. CDF Drum (notice that its updated part..not same one that fails) new Cylinder Drum, Valvebody w solenoids, front Seal, Torque Converter, new Fluid. parts $1933 + Labor $2000. Drives better than it did when it was brand new. Glad i kept it because I like the it otherwise. Good luck

2019 Ford Expedition 101500K miles. CDF drum has failed. Kicks hard into 2nd and 3rd. Also gets stuck in 7th gear when coming to a complete stop. Have 3 quotes from transmission shops. $8700 to $9800. All want to replace with a remanufactured Jasper transmission including a 3year warranty. Would anyone consider this instead of rebuilding?
REBUILD so you know for sure what you are getting

That happened to my '18 Expy a year ago with 110,000 miles on it. Local shop put in a rebuilt tranny from Jasper for $7k.
Jasper rebuilds come with a 3 year 110k mile warranty on them.
Been running fine a year later.

2019 F150 Trans dumped at 1500 miles. Thankfully we were under warranty. Been fine ever since. Now at 75K. As someone said above, if it's paid for, replace the trans. You should be good after that.

I had the same car - 2018 Platinum and the transmission would drop out randomly and periodically. There were many aspects of the car that made me think it was possessed so we traded it. It’s a KNOWN issue but Ford won’t recall it or fix it. For whatever reason, since it would do it once or twice a month, it didn’t throw codes so it’s someone else’s problem now
