The owners manual for my 07’ states 4A is suitable for daily driving conditions (such as dry or wet pavement). Your ok, many people drive in 4A full time actually.

It's not a fully locked up transfer case, there are slipping clutches in there. I posted an overview of how it works a while ago but you're fine in 4A on dry but it may impact your MPG so many people (me included) select sport and select 2 wheel drive to get the best of both worlds. now help me rationalize why I drive in sport mode looking for better MPG ?????????????
