I've been considering getting these headlights. How long have you had them? Do they hold up or only look good when brand new?
Which adapters did you need to install them? I looked and it seemed like they use different plugs for some unfathomable reason?
Also, do you use halogens or did you install LED or HID bulbs im em? Thx
I've had them since March, they are holding up fine. I live in an area with lots of dirt and gravel, an RV park; they've been **** on by birds, washed by drive-through car washes, and driven daily for work, look the same as the day I installed them. One note, the trim up top that the bolt goes into to hold the headlamp firm, it's made out of plastic, i've cracked the plastic a bit on the passenger side but it's still very secure and i'll probably just JB weld it at some point.
I use HID's for them, with the stock turn signal bulb which is the inner bottom bulb. As for the outter marker light, they don't include one, I've purchased amber LED bulbs that are small enough for that area however I still need to come up with a mounting solution that will hold up to the rough roads that I drive through daily. So it's only the C shaped running light, HID headlight and turn signal ( which is also the DRL when lights are on ).
You will need to get an adapter, because the headlamp uses H7 mounting for the bulb, but our trucks are not H7. so with this adapter, you can use an H7 HID bulb or w/e bulb type ( Halogen, HID, LED ), and plug into the stock truck harness. -

and then in order to get the C shaped DRL's working, you will need to get spear type connectors, crimp those onto the DRL wires and connect them into the turn signal plug. This powers them via turn signal harness, however thankfully they stay on when you signal, instead of blinking like the signal bulb ( which I definitely prefer them just staying on instead of blinking, that would be annoying ). The spear connectors I had from a different set of bulbs, some HID bulbs I had for the stock headlamps so I just butchered the HID bulb wires to give me some spear connectors; they are hard to find without buying a kit, but did a quick look and found this kit which has the spear connectors you need, 2nd to last connector on the right on that first pic. -
