i ordered mine from ddm tuning, paid like 60ish bucks including shipping, they might not have walk ins because the lady on the phone told me most of the hid kits ship out from china (which mine did). as for installing them, there is really no way to mess it up.... theres online like 4 things to connect and they are made so that each thing will only plug into the proper thing, so i'd deff call it plug n play

there is a mod that you can do so you are able to turn on fogs without the headlights. cant remember where i found it but pretty much it just involves taking the switch apart, filing down some of the switch with a dremel, and putting it all back together.

on my dad's 03 you can turn on the parking lights, and then pull out the fogs w/o having the heads on so they are running lights, I just turn on my parking lights and my H3 projector lights I i want some i=kind of running light so its whatever for me but I would like to try doing that mod some time

If anyone wants their fog lights to come on in the parking light position, let me know. THe mod is fairly easy to do, but you need access to a dremel tool. If you have any questions, let me know. I have done this mod to my truck and talk you through the whole thing. I have a write up on Ford-trucks.com on how to do it and how to override the fog lights off with the high beams too.

If any of you guys are looking for a true retrofit, doing HIDs the right way........let me know. I'd love to do up a set of projectors for an Expedition (I have a set of F250s here right now!). :D

HIDs in stock housings........well.......its "ok" - but the best way to do it is from a projector setup. Keep the lights out of the face of the oncoming drivers.

You won't get this clean of a beam from a plug n play bulb (aka, not in a projector!)

I used ddm too haven't had issues and there bright enough for me, I used to have the 100w xenon bulbs and they were brighter than stock but nothing compared to hid, they ship and you can go in and pick up only issue is they get back ordered alot so that's the only time they go mail only so call in advance

JTK, to make the fog lights come on, all you need to do is to remove the headlight switch from the dash and disconnect the plug on the back of the headlight switch. now, wrap the switch in a towel (trust me, DO THIS!!!!!). You will undo the clips holding the switch in to the bezel of the headlight switch. With the clips loose, slowly pull the headlight switch out of the bezel. You should feel the towel move a little bit from a small plastic piece shooting out of the switch and into the towel. Now, where this pin is, there is a small ramp in the bezel. All you do is take a dremel tool, shorten the ramp a little bit (about 20 degrees or so) and then reassemble the switch. May be advisable to use a litlte bit of the lube that is inside the switch to put it on the new plastic that you exposed when shortening the ramp. From there, you reassemble the switch, redo the plug and call it good.

As for making the fogs stay on with the high beams. that is easy. When you have the headlight switch apart, you will notice two white/black wires on the side of the headlight switch. You will want to tap into that wire and the brown wire (on the back of the headlight switch). Install a jumper wire between the two and you are done. This jumper wire will force the fog lights to stay on whenever the fog lights are turned on.

I tried the fog and running light mod before but it didnt work for me, i must not have taken enough off of the little ramp so ill go try it again soon....and i wish i knew that towel trick when i first tried it because i lost that small piece as it shot off and couldnt be found, didnt affect it all that much except the switch now rotates with no resistance. thanks for the help

depends on your state i think...but to me they arent...there are a few that say yes due to the glare...but almost every car now is being made with HIDs and projectors

There are ways to get around it. For my appication I got a set of these

The smaller projector has a great cut off in it. and dialed in right its very very good. now most people would think that being a smaller lense its less light? Defiently not, I opted for a set of 6000K 55W HIDs and got a standard 6000k-ish xenon bulb for the highs in the larger lense. Now this did involve some serious rewiring of the headlights but the end result is well worth it. Unfortunatly I dont have a picture of my own but they are very very similar to this pic.

Also Nvycrmn, this may be something you have already address but I am gonna ask anyway to know. Have you re-aimed your headlights after your lift? I know from my Cherokkee when I did my 6.5" lift my head lights SUCKED, re-aiming them helped quite a bit. Also, the Grill that is front of your lights, do you notice alot of glare from them since it looks like they are chromed? Have you tried as a test to put some black hockey tape of the back of them? (the side facing the lights) The glare coming off of them if there is any can impar your vision down the road.
