OK so when I had my Pioneer system installed, the guy did a great job, except he refused to connect the speed sensor to the computer because he says he's been held responsible in the past for frying folk's computers. I did convince him to run the wire, but right now it's just sitting there waiting to be attached. Thing is, I don't know how / where to put it. See pics below. Any suggestions appreciated.

Why does your GPS need a speed sensor? All of my GPS units calculate their "speed on the fly".

I have installed two in-dash units (2005 F-250 (Kenwood) and 2008 Expedition (Jensen)). Neither had a speed sensor wire. Is it possible this is the reverse sensing wire for the back-up camera? Or maybe the parking brake wire - so you can only program the unit while parked.

If you still have the installation instructuions, check them and see what this wire will do for your unit.

I just did a "google search" for the Avic unit. Several posts have said that the Avic will work fine without hooking up the wire.
