I've gone through this with my Lexus and have to agree to Gixer. The trouble is that your standard halogen bulb is omnidirectional in its light output. The housing is designed with this in mind and gathers the light all around the bulb to throw it out. LEDS are different. Look at Jeff's picture. Light only comes out those yellow patches. The headlight might appear brighter but it doesn't mean it's throwing light further.

Even retro fit HID bulbs can be problematic if the bulb sits further in or out of the housing compared to the halogen bulb.

I'm gathering some are having issues fitting the cap on with this type? How can that be? Mine slid right back on. I originally ordered the type with the braided heat sink but that's before I realized that the connection WASN'T the HB11 as the manual states but is instead, the HB3 connection. When I reordered, I got this type and they worked until one died, replacements now at the PO today.

He's looking to fit it into the high beam housing because of the offset the fan hits the edge of the opening and will not allow the bulb to seat.

Manual shows H11 55w low beams and HB3 (9005?) 55w high beams. That not right?

Jay's note and my own experience on LED bulb placement vs reflector design tells me that LEDs are not an ideal replacement unless they can reproduce the filament placement of the OEM bulbs. I've seen video of strange down-road light patterns of LEDs in standard reflectors.

Looking for more down-road light. Bright halogens have proper filament placement but are only are rated at 100 hours -- not sure what good that makes them.

Anyway would like to confirm there's no typo in the manual regarding the bulbs before I go further.

There is a typo in the manual. They switched the bulb numbers.

The housings come out with two 10 mm bolts on the top. Once removed you lift top tabs (where you took out the bolts) slightly and wiggle the housing out. There are two pins on the bottom, one fits into a socket the other a hole. Grab the outside of the headlamp housing and pull toward you, then wiggle the other side. You will then have to maneuver it out so you can remove one plug and the lower twist socket for the parking lights. After that pull the rubber covers and you can actually check your bulbs. I've done it so many times that I can take them out and put them back in about 5 minutes each.

I found that the HID bulbs work better because the reaction takes place at the same height from the base as the filament is in the halogen bulbs. With the HIDs I get down the road brightness that makes me pretty happy.

Wanted to know if anybody has found the other side to the WPT-925 connector for headlights? Or should I say the male side. This would make it easier to change out lights on expy. Instead of drilling out headlight assembly to change out to HID or LED an adapter could be made to intercept wiring with a splitter for new configuration for retro lights. If these are not available if a distributor could be found who sells the rubber plug on the headlight assembly itself. Thanks!
