First, I'm new, so don't hurt me.
Second, I'm not a really "mechanical" guy, always been the techie, A/V hookup, wiring, blah blah blah type.
Third, this is my first truck and my first Ford.
Fourth, I know I know, "There are no stupid questions, just stupid people."

Anyway, was looking at sway bars to tighten up the body roll on my 05 LTD. Anybody have any suggestions or experiences? Are there other alternatives I should be looking at?

Also, how the hell do I know if I have an air suspension? Looked in the manual and it mentioned it, did the "test" on the info center and it said "Air Suspension OK", but I don't see any switches or anything like it states in the manual. Am I missing something?

i think hellwig and bell tech offer an upgraded sway bar for the front and rear... plus look into poly bushings from energy suspension to tighten up the ride...

as for air suspecsion look under the truck and see if you have coil springs or air bags

First, welcome to the best forum on the net
Second, no one will hurt you
Third, nice truck
Fourth, do a search on google for your vehicle with air suspension...it will show you pictures of air bags and where they are located...this way you can poke your head underneath and know what your looking for...but the test you did sounds like you do..
Fifth, this should have sway bars on it from the factory
Sixth, I dont have air bags on mine and dealing with the same problem...Im changing to a stiffer shock...the do have air bag replacement kits to eliminate the air ride and go with standard shocks...So, I hope this helps and Im sure others here will give you there thoughts....this is a great group of guys...again welcome!!

My dad's o3 2wd handles like a sports car compared to my beast lol

Get a sway bar and better shocks for the rear. that'll tighten things up

FREEWAY, do you have a 4WD or 2WD. All the sway bar sets I see available (hellwig/Belltech) say 2WD and Rear Coils. Does anyplace still sell the Eibachs?

unfortunately, eibach stopped making the set...i they still offer either the front or rear only...i got that info from eibach customer service...i have 2WD...you may have to piece together 2 diff brands...all the same...there was someone with a black X that had the exact combo you mention...hellwig and belltech...one on the front and the other on the rear...search for anti-sway...something should come up on this site...

sway bars

O.K. got a question....I have sway bars on the front and rear...other than the fact these new ones may be different for lowering or lifting....if your not doing any of that, is there a reason to change?

all vehicles have anti-sway bars...we see the commercials where theyre weaving in/out of cones....thats your body roll...it reduces body roll...without it...you may roll over on curves when driving correct speed to speed limit. when you upgrade...you are replaceing the factory bars and tightening the response of your vehicle...reducing body roll even further...this does not mean drive faster...but an immediate affect is better response while driving your vehicle...case in point...the story i told about the s-curves...

anti-sway bars are not for lowering/lifting...although when lowering the vehicle most complete this mod...it not "meant" for that...I would advise against using this mod if you plan on lifting your truck...when lifting...most ppl drive over objects that will need more flex of the suspension and when you tightent the roll its a negative...PLUS...depending on how much of a lift you do...you cant put the basic upgrade mod on anyway...you'll have to buy suspension kit for lifted trucks to achieve desired results...

at anytime...please correct if wrong about any statement made because i'm not the lift guy...i'm the STREET KING!!! lol

OK..Got it...see I don't know nuttin about lifting or lowering...I would have thought you might have needed a different end length...but I am still confused...so bear with me....if I already have front and rear sway bars...what will replacing them do for me....whats the difference with the bars I have now and ones I would purchase....Im only being very curious on this because I do have some nose diving going on....

its a handling mod...wont do anything for nose dive...the factory bars are small in comparison to what you'd buy...so if you think your handling is good...this will make it even better....X's 100!!! so you'll be able to handle your truck better than before...its like replacing your springs because the ride is too bouncy...stiffer springs will make it bounce less...this will lean/roll less...

not good pics to show size diff...but look under your truck then look at these...

@ WITTCAP79: found the eibach anti-sway bar kit on ebay...just like mine...email the seller and find out if it will be a drop order or if they have it on hand...if drop order...call/email eibach for confirmation on kit...if on hand...order...good luck

So I found two places that were selling them on eBay. Neither had them in stock. Look like I'll have to go with the Hellwig setup.
