My 08 4x4 expedition has developed an odd sound, almost like a brake rotor has a stone jammed in the bracket. Nothing is touching the rotors or unusual around it.
Not related to engine rpm, no change 2wd or 4x4, directly related to speed. It's existed with almost no change for several hundred miles. No apparent dragging on any of the wheel bearings, differentials both have appropriate levels of gear oil.
Replacing both front brake shields is next up, they're both rusted enough that they might be dragging when moving.
Any things to check that I've missed?
