Minimum volume return

HELP! My 2015 Limited radio volume keeps fading down to minimum volume. I keep turning it up and it keeps fading down to minimum volume. I got it to stay at volume for several minutes while I was on the interstate today. When I got off the interstate and started to slow down, it faded to minimum. Thought it might be the speed compensating. Turned it off and didn’t help. I’m hoping someone else has encountered this and there’s a simple fix.

Hmmm, steering wheel controls?
That's where I'd start. They can get pretty yucky.
