Hi guys,
I have a 2004 Expedition XLT Sport 4x4 5.4L 100% OEM parts. It has just under 100K miles and instead of selling it next year I've made the decision to keep it. I tow a 6000lb enclosed trailer which it does a decent job with but performance boosts would help. There are various things that I know need to be done.

Current Problems:
1. Engine has original spark plugs. These need replaced. I understand its a pain in the ass. What's the best option I have here?
2. Rear passenger side window works intermittently. All other windows are slow. I've read in these forums that lubing will help. Any other suggestions?
3. Intermittent soft clunk noise in the driver side front wheel assembly. Local garage couldn't isolate the issue. I've not taken it to the Ford dealer because its not too bad. Suggestions from these forums indicate it could be the CV joint.
4. Exhaust. My local garage says that exhaust is super rusty and might not last until spring. If I'm going to replace it I'd like to go with something that will increase performance. Suggestions?

Improvements I want to make:
A. New radio. No problems here I've done this before :)
B. Tires & Wheels - Based on what people have done in this forum I'd like to go with 33-35" tires & wheels. I'm looking at the Rough Country Leveling kit which should get me what I need for this. I'm fairly certain I can do the work myself but while I have it apart I was thinking about replacing the struts since they are original. If I go this route, should I consider something different than the leveling kit I'm looking at? Should I go with something like a whole strut assembly with springs and everything?

Because of the risk, I think I should get the spark plugs done first. I need your guys input on everything I'm thinking about please. Thanks!

Welcome to the Forum Shr00m.

Spark plugs - unless you have a lot of time on your hands find a shop to do them. My Ford dealer charges $500 + $100 for everyone that breaks. They have the tools let them do it. That what everybody says who has done their own and had to get broken ones out.

Windows - Lube the channels with silicone spray - take the inner door panels off and make sure your window drive cable looks good and isn't frayed and make sure that the pulleys are in good shape.

Clunk - I'm assuming 4 WD because you said CV joint. Check the calipers to make sure you don't have a loose bolt

Exhaust - The exhaust on my 05 was very rusty, didn't think it would make it through the first winter. The thought the rear hanger was going to fall off - I carried coat hangers in the back in case I had to make an emergency repair. 3-1/2 years later they were still rusty as hell and going strong.
