My exhaust video! 99 5.4 muffler delete

The muffler literally blew apart and split its seams. Last year I took it out and just put 2.5" pipe from where the muffler use to be back with a 4" tip.

kinda agree. it's all personal taste. I did it to mine when I first got it and then had a proper system put on.

Skyjumper, Honesty is the best policy, sometimes its all in the delivery....I do agree that its not a sound that I prefer and have heard a few done like this..different flavors for different folks...

I don't think it sounds bad. It was a cheap mod and sounds better than stock. All that matters is what pooleo thinks its his rig.

Pooleo... Good video... But.. Yeah what others have said... A muffler serves a purpose such as back pressure, blah, blah. I've decided to go with magnaflow 5x11 oval on mine. Should weld it on after Christmas. Also side note: rust oleum the trailer hitch mount and paint a fresh coat of flat black or bed liner spray on it. Our older expy's mostly show rust by now if not done. Easy, quick, and cheap fix, and looks great!

There is no noise in cab. And the exhaust sounds a 100 times better while actually driving it and having a load on the motor. The crack is non-exsistant. And it sounds very healthy. It is not overly loud (like being straight piped)

I will try a video in the cab and/or on the rear bumper area.

As far as back pressure goes, the truck has 4 cats on it. Im sure the choked down muffler will not have any effect on it, in fact, its been like this for over a year and I have not lost any power/mileage or performance. Im getting 16-19 mpg at 65 hwy. Which is what its always gotten

And I suppose I should point out, the muffler had literally blew in two pieces. And I was not fond of the exhaust smell and noise from the muffler being trashed. I had some pipe and made the fix.
