it's been a really Long time but....
Here I am to update the thread...
My wife "Still" drives her 97 Expedition daily..... They moved her office from 62 miles away to 88 miles from home so she's been putting 176 miles a day on it 5 days a week...
Needless to say, Our Expedition just turned over 355,000 actual miles and it still runs fine...
In the last year it has begun using about a quart of oil every oil change (3000 miles) but other then that, it remains trouble free.
We've experienced some minor problems with it like a power window motor failed, and the drivers front window regulator was so worn it fell apart but other then having to fix that stuff, she still runs fine and gets a solid 17-18 mpg.
We are tossing around the idea of finally replacing the Expedition. My wife is very reluctant and doesn't really want to part with it but she realizes that her $600/700 a month fuel bill is really hurting us in the long run.
So maybe we'll get to retire the absolute best vehicle we've ever owned soon..... "Maybe" I'm waiting to hear her say: "I just wanna see it say 400,000"
