Mich LTX MS2 on both expys, all pickups and the Grand Cherokee. Been running them since the early 1990's. Won't even consider anything else.

$206.99 x 4 = $827.96 at Walmart + another $80 for install and no road hazard warranty. That's $907.96. Not sure where $416 came from.

Right now theyre ACTUALLY up to 145... were 104 though

Currently the good deals are Nexen and Pirellis for 120-something, at least in the size I looked up (255/70r18)... there's some super cheap severe service rated allweather allseason allterrainers from Nokian, though, for like $106 in the pretty much identical 265/65r18 size

Have you seen these?
https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Kumho&tireModel=Crugen+HT51
Rank #1 in highway all season- better than a couple Michelin tires. These sorta look like the LTX M/S2 tires.

No they look totally different, they got this angular look to em.

My device crashed while browsing for tires, and Amazon somehow misinterpreted that as me placing an order and seny me ONE kumho... took me a while to figure out how to return it and get around to it, so I got to compare.

PS tirerack's price is horrible, like 70 bucks higher than walmart per tire

Obviously .... there are a LOT of good tires these days!

When I was out in Glacier NP, saw these rugged tires on a NP Ranger pickup. I talked to the Ranger and he said he did a lot of research and chose these & liked them. His big need was rugged sidewall since he can encounter a lot of rocks in the backcountry that cut sidewall.

This was the cabin the guy lived in for the summer on Bowman Lake. Is that sweet or what?

Take a look at load index and load ratings when comparisons it can cause a substantial fluctuation in price.
In this case the tires you posted are 112s and his link are 113s.
May make zero bit of difference depending upon one’s needs.
I came across some KO2s for $55 cheaper a tire for the same size. Low and behold they were a C and not an E. No way I am putting a C on these rigs. A D possibly as I tow very little but an E is probably the best bet.

I was wondering just how everyone had prices so much lower (50%) than the ones I could find. With tires capable of 50k miles will I be able to guarantee I won't be doing any trailering or loading the cargo area during that time? Nope. I don't want a catastrophic blowout just because I wanted to save $600 for a 5yr/50k mile investment.

Hey PB, what did you end up deciding?

jeff
nothng yet, letting dust settle and see who hits a great sale between now and december
leaning heavy to the michellin ltx ms 2, or the bfg a/t
watching prices this week, plus lots of honey do NOWS.

my buddy owns a tire store, but he is to small to get michellins, which sucks as he is close and does good work. But the down side is he is an independent store so if we are traveling and tires need any rotations or balance, it costs me

112s vs 113s? Thats actually cause theyre different sizes.

I posted stock GatorL 18" size as per door sticker. Cuz that's what they went onto

Your tires' max weight will depend on inflation much more than amything else, btw. Chronic underinflation of LTs is practically an American tradition.

If youre worried about pasenger/cargo overloads, plenty of people run em 1000 - 1500 lbs overloaded, and probably 2000 lbs over sticker on ELs... main thing there if trying to play it safe would be actually airing up your tires, much moreso than tire choice.

Regarding trailers, I'm no expert but the alllowed tongue weights are miniscule vs. the amount of crap and people mass you can pile in the back... if you catch a catastrophic blowout while towing, it's gonna be road hazards shredding a tire.... where LT load E might *possibly* help, but two different weight rating P tires? NOOPE

PS for the folks who didn't catch it, btw: "Michelin LTX M/S2 Highway" ARE *NOT* LT tires. Theyre highway pasenger tires with some weather capability only.
"LTX" means nothing, just that they make em in sizes for pickups and suvs

Anyone have experience with the
Bridgestone - Dueler H/L Alenza Plus?
They are on sale right now at Costco with $70 off a set and 1 cent installation, so basically $130 off a set. 80K tires.
There are also several other Bridgestone Dueler H/T tires on sale also. The 840, 684 II, and 685.

I am currently running the Michelin LTX M/S2 tires. I am running P275/65R18 size. That is the one they have for the Alenza Plus. I think door sticker is P255/70R18. The other Dueler H/Ts are the sticker size.

Opinions?

As everyone will tell you, $70 manufacturer rebates are an "eternal sale" run by just about every brand

Flip thru some guy-oriented magazine you'll always see a bunch

That's true, one of the brands have that running most of the time The free install does help though. Was mostly looking for info on those Bridgestone models. Anyone have experience with the Alenza on an Expedition?

It includes mounting, lifetime balancing (speed balancing, nothing fancy), lifetime rotation, and 5-year road hazard. Sam's Club is the same. I think BJ's is as well.

As I said in my previous post, this is what makes this unbeatable or nearly unbeatable deals. These clubs already have tire pricing on most tires that virtually no one can beat and once you toss in the mount/balance/road hazard, it's not even close.

Original owner '97 Eddie Bauer 5.4L 4X4:
*I ran the OEM Goodyears (P265/70R17) until nearly 76,000 miles.
*second set was Michelin LTX M/S to 142,000 miles (best rated/ride quality at the time based on Tire Rack). Independent dealer w/military discount.
*third set was Michelin LTX M/S2 (top pic) up to December 2017 odometer broken. Independent dealer w/military discount.
*fourth set also Michelin LTX Defenders (bottom pic) (LT/M/2 morphed to Defender line) 11 months ago. Also an independent dealer w/military discount.

Each set was OWL lettering and rotated every 5,000 miles.

Each independent dealers offered lifetime tire maintenance, rotation, air, road hazard etc. and either mail in or instant rebate. had a few tire repairs out of state and either hand carried or faxed bill for repair reimbursement. Old LTX.JPG
