And I was thinking about doing something like that with all of the extra wood I have left over.

If you give me dimensions and your goals for it I could get a design out for you. Or I may be able to build it and ship it. I've never shipped an enclosure before though lol.

There won't be any updates for a couple days. I gotta get out to get some more wood and fiberglass. I'll have to wait until after I send the other half of my payment for my tegu and get all of the supplies for its tank and see where I sit on money...So updates should come come early next week.

And if anyone a design for an enclosure, tips for building one, or to have one build, just let me know. Thanks SOLISIMO for the idea lol.

Cant speak for everyone on this, but I was thinking of something stealth as to not lose storage space. Perhaps there are unused cavities for and enclosure somewhere. I think a single 10" would do the trick. I had been considering removing the existing OE sub and modifying the cavity. Does anyone know what the factory power rating is to the factory sub in an EB? I have a JL 10W1 sitting around from a previous vehicle that I could use. Not sure if I will stay with the OE head unit since many of the buttons do not work properly (press bass and the radio changes stations...)but I do have the OE DVD system so that complicates it too.

Goal= improved bass, minimal loss of storage space, stealth design

I know there is a fair amount of space in the back, left panel, if you're looking from the back to the front. I used to keep a battery there in mine. A sealed box for a single 10" may fit nicely in there, maybe a small ported box with an external port, I'd have to measure to be sure though.

i would pay good $$$ for a single 12 box for a jl w6 that fits in that panel, i know that the sub would have to stick out where the air ride switch is. i dont have air ride so i dont care and i already have a panel to hack up just no box building skills.. LOL.. see if it is possiblr to do with removing the factory sub. thanks

I dont have air ride, mine is just the XLT, so I'm not too familiar with it. I'm actually looking into air ride or helper springs because my suspension isn't liking the extra 2k lbs+ of weight in the back lol.

I do know that it would be extremely hard to fit a good ported box for a 12" in the amount of space available behind any of the panels. So it would have to be a sealed box. But with JL subs, especially the W6 being geared more toward sq, it will do well sealed.

Got a lil more done today with the fiberglass. I couldn't do much more because it rained all day, like it has been every day pretty much lol.

This side is almost there, really rigid right now. I'm still thinking about filling the area behind it with spray foam.

This side still needs some more layers.

That's all for today, used up about 25'^2 of mat and about a half gallon of resin...More glassing tomorrow, and hopefully a lil cutting if the weather permits lol.

Plenty of room between the seats and mounting surface.

Gonna get the port layered up and glues and screwed in tomorrow weather permitting. Gonna leave the inner layer two inches shorter just in case I wanna tune a lil lower later on.

Dry fit with both layers of the port in.

Gluing, got a lil carried away lol.

Didn't take pics for a while, but this is where I started taking them again.
Building the top and bottom up.

I was having a lil trouble getting this back in after test fitting. After two light taps with a hammer, this is what I get. It's all glued back together now though lol.

The notch in the port wall just in case I want to tune a lil lower.

I'm thinking about making the 45* a different color than the port and inside of the box, something that will contrast a lot.

just wondering...whats the purpose for the build? competition?

Not really competition, just a loud dd/demo vehicle.

whats up RMZ!

im finally over here too, this has been a great build/truck in the making.

What's up, I wasn't expecting to find anyone familiar over here. Looks like the audio section will be getting a lil more serious.

Ripped out some of the plastic under the box. Still more down there though. It was getting in the way so I'm just gonna put some more down tomorrow before I glue.

Mounting hardware. Each sub will have four 1/4" x 5" through bolts, and four 1/4" x 2" lag screws.

Lag compared to a Deckmate screw.
