New issue with column shifter

So tonight as it always seems to be tne time something gose wrong I go to put my truck in gear and I hear "clink clink clink" and then it lands on my floor mat. This little metal pin with a gear thread on one end and its about an inch or so long. Truck gose into gear still but I no longer have to pull the lever twoards me. Should I worry about this pin and is it hard to put back in?

its the safety pin, basically now the truck goes into gear WITHOUT holding the brake. ugghh taking it in tomorrow morning should have it back by noon. my tax return is already spent before even getting it

i never had to put my foot on the brake to shift.....
