Yes I have a meter. If i remember right it has two sets of cables one was on the smaller part of what I think is a solenoid and the other is on a bolt that bolts the starter to the engine. It has two wires to it it looks like it would be a ground and I didn't get any sparks or fire when I hooked it to the neg on the bat.

The cable that is on the starter bolt is a ground and should go back to the neg battery post. The red cable at the top of the starter is from the starter solenoid that is on the firewall.
When you jump the two large studs on the starter solenoid (on the firewall) you are connecting the starter directly to the battery. At this point the starter should at least spin. If it doesn't the next step would be to bench test the starter.

You also have another issue to deal with - the salt in winter is going to raise hell with all your new wiring if they are not completely seal from the elements and te terminals are coated with an inhibitor.

Just for ***** and gigs Im going to turn the crank with a bar. It would be stupid if it set up all the sudden but hey you never know. Also I'm going to try and see if the factory alarm is messed up the alarm safety starter relay. I guess the expeditions have them. I was told to take the key and lock and unlock the door and if the alarm tripped that relay that that would reset it. Couldn't find any reading on that just what an old timer told me. Is their any way to jump the starter itself under the truck like I could on my old doge? If I don't have to pull the starter I don't want to. It is just so strange that my car that worked fine would just all the sudden need a starter after I tore the dash out and changed under hood parts. Stranger things have happened but I don't know. Also do you know where the neutral safety switch is?

I did the grease thing on my expy when Ireplaced the terminals, It hasn't coused any problems yet.

as far as your no start, you need to inspect the cable running from the starter just disconnect and give it a good wiggle and bend to search for damaged insulation, mine has a split in it that has corroded it internally, the whole wire needs to be replaced on mine to fix the issue I have. like yours but mine is intermittent.

firewall sol engages, starter sol engages but there is not enough contact to make the starter turn over. a few hits of the key and it grabs and fires up.

Funny that you mentioned this, Iminyourchair. I have taken voltage to the starter pos cable and it gets batt voltage but I was down there trying to jump it straight to power, when cleaning the terminal on the starter it arked pretty bad and the wire came the rest of the way off. So I jumped it from the solenoid and it cranks so I need to replace the wire. In my moment of triumph I cut the larger wire running to the top of the solenoid on the fire wall... I hope it didn't go to anything else! probable should of looked that up before i cut it.

If you guys know that it powers something else let me know. Thanks for all the help, Ill let you know how it all works out.

Should be a straight shot from the solenoid to the starter.

In some of the pics you posted the wiring is rubbing against the a/c lines. Over time this will wear through the insulation and create a short to ground if they are positive cables. I would fix this before it became a problem.

I looked all over for wiring loom and couldnt find any big enough and yes I did notice this I have them zip tied for now the best I could but when I get the loom I will figure it out. so I jumped the gun in cutting the wire. I didn't cut the top wire like I said I cut the lower wire on the pass side of the solenoid and then even after I installed a new wire the truck wouldn't do anything so I had to do my best to re solder the wire back together till I can get a replacement for the wiring whip. I'm not comfortable with the end down by the starter being live and just dipped in liquid tape /taped up and in the engine bay half assed solderd and taped up.
