Jump the starter solenoid. Solenoid is on firewall. Turn key on and cross large wire terminals with screw driver. Be safe, it will arc and spark. If starter turns, you found your problem.

Remove the small wire from the starter solenoid and clean both the terminal and the connector.

I would clean all the connections Including on the starter It sounds like you have a bad connection

JUST4FUN this is where you perform a voltage drop test between two points/connections to possibly avoid wasting time cleaning them. It is a very simple process once it is understood.

If you're still having a problem...I had this problem with my 99 expy. Turned out wires under the truck had rusted and broken. After hubby tied them back together, started right up. He said "It was a rotten ring terminal in the red wire to the starter. Yes we still had battery...everything worked except starting the truck."
Might wanna trace ur starter wires to see if you have any breaks. Hope this helps.

If it's a new battery and the battery light on the dash still comes on then it must be the alternator. I just replaced mine with a motorcraft alternator after 130k plus kilometers and two rewinds. The last rewind lasted less than a month.
