Front passenger window on my 04 can be controlled only from the passenger side switch, drivers side switch will only put the window up but not down. It also rolls down slower than all the others, I thought window motor at first but this doesn't really make sense. What should I check or replace?

if you can control it from passenger side switch then the motor is ok
most likely the switch on the drivers side needs replaced or you could try and spray some electronic contact on the switch from the underside of the switch.

can you read and understand wiring diagrams

its probably the switch module under that's located under the control switch cover I replaced mine like 3 times since I've had my 06 Expedition XLT. I found the replacement cover and switches NEW on eBay for like 40 Bucks yeah kind of pricy but they are NEW.......

Thanks, I checked ebay and found the whole switch assembly for $20 new, I might just try that and go from there. Surprising you've had to replace it so many times especially buying new ones. I've never needed wiring diagrams before but I would give it a shot.

The passenger window rolls up and down really slow, this is probably a separate issue not related to the switch? The controls from the drivers side worked fine when I bought the car but the window was always slow. Then after a couple months when I would try to roll the window down from the drivers side it would move slightly (maybe 1/8 inch) but no more. Thats why I thought maybe it was a dead motor. But I'll go ahead and check the switch and if that doesn't work then I'll look into replacing the motor.

Just take the whole button panel off, unplug it, then open it all up and clean the connections. Guarantee that's what it is. Takes like 30 minutes and isn't very difficult.

2004xlt, the main problem is the slow movement of the passenger window. In time you will have the same problem again until the slowness is corrected.
In basic terms the motor has an increased load which also causes an increase in the current flow. Over time it wears/pitts the contacts of the switch to the point that the switch fails to close and complete the circuit.
