I just cut right before the muffler, pullex the tail pipe and muffler out from under the truck and slapped on a turndown tip for 7 bucks and called it good...its sounds very racecar like when i step on it. And since it dumps under the truck I dont have to worry about crushing any pipes

Well...I had a complete custom exhaust installed from my 1 5/8" shorties back. Dual stainless 3" with high flow cats into dual in and out magnaflow muffler with internal x-pipe. It was way too loud for my taste but it did sound very mean and deep. Sounded like a big block race car is how I would describe it but I had additional resonators installed after the muffler and it quieted it down to what I consider reasonable. Had them install v-clamp connectors so it could be removed for accessibility for tranny and etc..

It cost about $1100 complete :bawl: but it is all stainless, mandrel bent and took over 8 hours of labor to install/fabricate.

If you watch my link with some decent headphones you get an idea what it sounds like. Turn it up :) but not too much as the blower is quite loud :p Drivers side window is down....

Magna-Flow single cat-back system. used, $100

really mellow and low tone, sounds best at 2,000-2,500 RPM

not aggressive or loud at all, just mellow rumbles, also there is no drone at cruising speed. probably NOT what you're looking for.

Gibson headers 2.5" duals back to a Magna flow muffler with dual 2.5" in and out with built in x pipe.Full SS with mandrel bends, chrome tips out the back. All 4 stock cats still in place, not real loud but a nice growl. may get louder when I remove rear cat and put pair of high flows in front

But mine was pricey, $350, but they also had to go under my axle because of the indipendant suspension (sorry about the spelling, that is one thing I am NOT good at). LOL :D

thats why i was told i couldnt get it...there are 2 guys that got it done...one lost the spare (not willing to do that) and the other went with smaller piping in order to get it around the IRS...if i had thought about it then...i couldve gotten it done for $175...since i didnt...$150 at local exhaust shop in Ft Walton Beach FL next to Eglin AFB...miss that place

Yeah, I hate the ones that say they can't do it, it just means they are either A) too lazy to have to work, B) really don't know what they are doing or C) Have no imagination to be able to work it out. Either way, I found one that does so I am happy. :D I got all Stainless steel too so it is awesome. :D And I think I was wrong, I think I have 2.5" not 2". I can't remember off the top of my head.

Not too loud cause the wife drives the truck sometimes. I don't have to pass emissions where I live, but no change to Cats so should be OK.
