So last week, when i was behind another vehicle in traffic, i noticed my headlights went out. Then a few moments later came back on!! I didn't have my headlights on, but being Canadian i have DRLs. Now that i have been paying attention to it, it actually happens relatively frequently. Does anyone know where the DRL module is? Or is it part of the GEM? As an aside, my digital odometer comes and goes too..but not in concert to the DRL.

why is it when people come on here with a problem The information they give is missing the most important part or are we to guess the year model etc of what vehicular they have I realize its a first gen but that covers 1997 to 2002 6 model years

 Relax !!!
I get it he forgot the year,

Not sure I think under the front bumper. I'd need to check, but it sounds like it could be something else since the odometer is doing the same

He might just not use a forum much and never realized he should include that info. Not really a big deal.

Check wiring too. Could be a short in the system

FYI there is no DRL module on the expy However there is a DRL Relay block located right side of Inst. Panel which contains two relays and also a DRL Resistor which is located left front of the engine compartment

FYI having the correct information as to the year I was able to find this information and also include the correct prints

Canadian Expy, By saying you think under the front bumper sounds like your not sure or just guessing

And the digital odometer is most likely the same problem with most of the 1st gen a bad solder joint on the circuit board check on youtube for a video on how to repair this problem

You sure have a lot of attitude, You might think you know everything, and you might even be right, ( I said I need to check!!) but attitude still kinda sucks.

Yes, i left the year of my expy out, but i had created a signature for my account with that info in...for some reason it isn't showing!! For the record, it's a 2000 Ford Expedition Limited, 4.6L auto, 4x4 with leather interior, black paint, four tires, which coincidentally are black AND round, four doors plus a lift gate with an opening glass hatch (gasp), two outside mirrors and a front license plate holder which twists a little to the left. Enough info?! lol

Anyway...thanks for the info. I will start with the relays and check connections and contacts first. I'm thinking it might be in relay #2 as it appears relay #1 is more responsible for switching between headlight and drl.

Thanks

I think you forgot the nut behind the wheel LOL

If you need any wiring diagrams I would be glad to send them

From the Grumpy ole man on this end

BTW I was able to see what year your expy is just by looking at your profile From which I was able to look at the prints etc
But my peeve with this site is so many do not include that information and also I have seen many times that information on the profile isn't updated
