It’s a small round button under the “N” in expedition going across the Chrome lift gate Bezel

double click the button on the key fob.

Don’t mean to state the obvious, but I assume the truck was unlocked when you hit the Window hatch button Robert pointed out? Just making sure it’s not something that simple before you start diagnosing further.

I popped open the rear window slightly, still no guidelines on the rear view camera.

I know, comparing apples to oranges, but on our Ford Edge the reverse guidelines have recently disappeared as well. Per the Edge community this is somewhat common and is always the APIM becoming faulty. Accessory Protocol Interface Module, its a box that takes mulitple inputs (AM/FM, Navigation, your rear view camera, HVAC, and outputs all of it onto your display screen)

In our case a battery disconnect for 30 minutes solved the problem for a few weeks, but the last time I drove it I noticed the lines have disappeared again. APIM evidently can be $50 to $300 used online, like ebay.
