if ur looking for used 37s. call around some little tire shops. we went to get some new trailer tires from a place in lakeside and they had hundreds of used mts. in all sorts of sizes and wear. i dont remember the name of the place though. if u have a set of rims laying around that would be good. have the ats for when your around the city and the mts when ur going off roading. thats something i want to do.

yeah thats where ive been. as you may see anderson truck trail is there. but no one put anything on there cause its so unknown. it is a trail as i said b4. but ive always wanted to do smugglers cave. i dont remember how far it is away from the city of SD, as a reference point, but its cool. thats where smugglers would keep the people until night and then they would leave. its all marked up by people.

okay. ill go check it out this up coming week sometime. it really isnt to bad. just every once in a while u hear SCRATCH! and ur like DAMN! but where i usually scratch is when i have my girl in the truck and shes like freaking out. so i have to take the higher line and i hit the bushes. other then sometimes its pretty open. the lines are hard for me cause i have open diffs. smooth, u might have some hard times going up some hills but nvy has a winch or we can move what rocks there are to help. and yeah im down for that. have to tell the parents im going for "school" or something. haha but im done. is it for the whole weekend or how dose it work? idk. nvr been there. out skirts look fun. saw some videos of that and it looks funn.

I've never really found out what the limits are of having 2WD and think this would be interesting to know. The only reason I'm worried about scratches is because I was planning on repainting my cladding and grill within the next couple weeks. Now I'm thinking I should wait so the new paint doesn't get scratched, but at the same time I'm tired of having faded cladding.

hey theres other places. im going to buy a map that shows all the trails in san diego. including the desert. if you really want to we can hit the desert. in a month or so it should cool down a little. maybe wait till September it'll be cooler. glamis is about 2 1/2 hour drive away and ocotillo wells is about 1 1/2 - 2 hour drive away. and truck haven is about 2 - 2 1/2 hour drive away. the about 5 hours of driving time total and about the same for play time. if we leave 1st thing in the morning. i like glamis cause its soft sand. ocotillo cause theres trails out there and truck haven well... just youtube it. go every march! nvy you should come next time. we bring the jeeps and do the hills and gullies. always full size trucks there. just google maps/earth the deserts and ull see how close they really are. i spend about $100 in gas to get to glamis and back. its a good full tank. just keep that in mind though. ill find some other closer trails that arnt so narrow in places and ill post them.

The desert would be fun.. I'll be back in San Diego starting August 21. I'm really mad that I don't have AWD... when I bought my Expy I had to go to 4 dealerships to find a black one with the 5.4L and they only had one with 2WD and they were having a sale that ended so if I waited for one with AWD I wouldn't get the $6,000 off that I got with the 2WD.

hey man that sux. but you still have a nice expy. and glamis youll do great! all terrain or street tires rule out there! the guys you see stuck are the ones with mts. mts have lugs that are to spread out for soft sand. they like to dig. my tires nvr dug once. well i was climbing a hill where i kept making it to the top and sinking in. o well. backed out. but anywhere is kool to me. im just glad i found people that want to go with me that have the same size truck as me.

well im down for anything. still havent been to anderson lately. need to get my butt out to alpine and check it out. see if it is really bad. like the shrubs and wht not. but the desert is still a 2 hour $100 gas drive. for me it is. so the desert would be better if we stay longer, but ive done glamis in a day. twice this year already. but desert is better with more people. in case something happens.

well wherever we go, its gonna have to be a day trip for me, especially if the wife comes. cuz that means the nanny will be with the kids. so i can leave my house around 0700 but have to be back by around 1530/1600.

hey that works. and remember im civilian. no 24 hour time for me. no im kiding. i was in a rotc program at my high school and majoring in aviation. i got it. and i did that one time. i left at like 930 to go to school. didnt. went to pick up a friend and headed to glamis. i think we hit the road at around 1030. played for a few hours and made it home at 430. and the earlier the better. if anything you can bring the kids unless they would be to rowdy. i say glamis only cuz all terrain tires work great there and no need for hard compact fast driving. air down to 15 psi and roll all day. its funn. but to hot still. well have to make it for a later date. maybe mid to late September to October. dont want to interfere with your asuza trip.

im sure we can figure it all out. if i dont find some cheap mud tires by the time for the azusa trip, dont know if i will go. just doesnt seem like it would be fun with A/T. maybe it would though. who knows. i know i cant go on the 16th of oct....michigan plays iowa and that is a HUGE game in my house cuz they dont play every year. my wife is an iowa fan and im a michigan fan so.....we could do that friday, the 15th. head up there early in the AM then hit the trail, and head home that evening.

I'm good to go to azusa in mid october then possibly hit the desert some time after that... maybe we can find a few more people to join in by then. I'm also going to start hunting for some rims and mud tires to throw on the back so I can keep up a little better at azusa. Panda if you could check out Anderson then we can decide whether to do it or not... so far I've held out on painting my cladding. I don't really know of any other places - any dirt trails I've found are too smooth which isn't much fun.

i dont mind doing azusa. we can do the creek crossing, play on the outskirts of the mud just to have some fun, then hit the trail to end it all. there is also another place called hungry valley in gormon, ca. that place isnt too bad either. i went there in 08. but that place is far away.
