not really wanting to go to the dealer with the current climate of COVID. Looking for some insight on my sunroof. It will not slide back, it drops down like it’s going to but stops there. If I hit the switch over and over and pull the glass panel back I can get it to slide back sometimes. I cleaned the rubber seals and metal edge where it seals but no luck.

the panel roofs have been a problem for years - all the super duty guys have had issues (I dont open mine)! I had 'em tinted and never had an issue!

My father has a 2018 Platinum F-150. He hates sun roofs in general and thinks they add noise to the cab. He has not opened his roof since he bought it. My sister took his truck the other day and it was fairly nice and she opened the roof. It got half way back and jammed up. Wouldn’t open or close. They took it to the dealer and they fixed it under warranty but advised them to always open and close it at least once a month. They told them they see more problems with the roof from people not using them. I guess debris gets into the slide system. Opening and closing it helps keep it clear. I thought that was interesting.

Their crap IMO. My F-150 never had a problem one with it in 3.5 years. Knock on aluminum for the Expy. A guy I work with has had his 17’ SD in the shop at least 8 times with it stuck or leaking. New GM’s have them now. Just like big wheels. It makes you cool and high end. Hahaaa. If I wanted the top open I would buy a Jeep.

Another reason I wanted XLT. Have owned at least 5 vehicles with sunroofs and have seldom ever used them so this time I knew it was something to avoid- especially these humongous versions.

I am like you, never opening a sunroof. However, I’m glad I got this one, the extra light is awesome and the kids love the extra window to look out. Since picking up the vehicle in January 2018 I’ve opened it 3 time, maybe.

I actually ordered a loaded Navigator Select with every option but the sunroof. I did not want the sunroof and the only option I wanted but didn't get was the upgraded sound system because I had to get the sunroof to get the sound system.
