so while trying to remove the broken sway bar end link. which took me FOREVER! heres old and old broken vs new. o and i cant upload what the new pics look like when its installed photobucket is being dumb and keeps freezing. but heres these. 012.jpg 011.jpg and incase you were wondering what it looked like. 008.jpg

but anyways. my vice grips slipped off and went right into the grease boot. now theres a hole there. and before i want to go to the desert and get it filled with dirt i need to replace it. so heres the question. how hard is it to do and where can i get a new boot for it? and i might as well just replace most of the parts while im under there anyways.

no not the short shaft. the tie rod. to turn the tire. ill take a pic of it. i think i have sand in it all ready. that big pipe that goes across the picture is the tie rod. well the end of it connects to the spindle. and that has a hole in it.

Hey pandai don't think you can buy just the rubber boot.. but energy suspension has the poly ones for like 5$.. that is the only option unless you change out the tie rod then you get a new boot with the new one

Ya, if you hit the knuckle, it will pop off. I didn't need to use a pickle fork when I took mine off to do my ball joints.

Just go to the parts store and buy a new set. They are pretty cheap.

I prefer moogs or energy suspension. I had fairly new moogs on mine, but when I changed out all my bushings, I had an extra set from energy suspension, so I threw them on.

I've obviously removed the tie rod end for the picture shown to the left, but it's a good time to point out that there's a breather tube running from the boot on one side of the rack to the boot on the other side of the rack.
