Timberline Running Boards

Anyone know what material the fixed running boards are made of for a 22 timberline? Mine is new and noticed that the black coating appears to flaked off and exposing a white material. It's on the side of the rb and there is no noticeable damage from it striking something.

Don’t have an answer to your question, but I’d love to have options for replacing those things with some real sliders.

I believe they are metal, i had some of the paint flake when I was washing it. I would like to put the running boards that Ford had on the demo Timberline they were showing off.

Do sliders go back in when you exit the vehicle? If so then the door bang protection from other vehicles is gone.
