appears when truck has been running for 30 mins. or so the shifting in the tranny starts to act up sometimes it will not downshift after accel. also has trouble going in reverse.
noticed a week ago the OD light was flashing but has since stopped. when cold the OD works fine. Took to shop and had power flush done on tranny and trans cooler but that did not seem to help at all

Should have done a pan drop and changed filter and drained both the tranny and convertor. May want to do that still, Powerflushing still has many people leary. The filter itself still has the stuff in it and what does come out is circulated back into tranny.

Actually, Power Flushing is greatly recommended, and by far the best way to completely clean the system, so I don't know why people would be leary about doing it. BUT, as prcrboy states, you do have to drop the pan and change the filter.

This sounds silly, but have you checked the trans fluid level? Your symptoms are those of system low on fluid.

Since the OD button was flashing the computer has stored a trouble code.

Along with the new tranny fluid, I'd also see what code it stored.

FWIW, Ford never states that the tranny filter ever needs replacing under normal circumstances.
