California has some long pulls where you have to be sure your not pushing too hard. That can lead to overheating a transmission.

Yeah, kinda like the Sherman grade on 395 north of Bishop. It sems like it goes on forever!

Just today completed a 3,119 mile trip through Washington, Idaho, Montana, South Dakota, and Wyoming towing a 3400 lb travel trailer. You know we had some mountains in our way! We didn't do killer daily trips, more like 150-175 miles per day with longest being 310 miles. Regardless of distance, at the end of each trip I arrived relaxed and stress free. Our 2014 is a very comfortable long distance tow vehicle and we're glad we made this choice!

Thanks to the OP for coming back and posting what they found, even if it's not definitive for us. Honestly? It makes me wish for a tranny dipstick! Trust but Verify......hmm, good enough to end the Cold War, good enough to live by....
