Took the alternator out today that was pretty easy and it was confirmed that the "grinding like noise" i was hearing while it was running was coming from it "bad bearing" but while i was trying to get the SERPENTINE BELT TENSIONER to move so i could get belt off alternator pulley i noticed it was really hard and felt like it was sticky,i just thought it was that way so when i went to get belt back on alternator pulley there was no tension on the belt, so i worked the TENSIONER to were it would and ended up breaking the aluminium right were the ratchet is supposed to go in it to losing the belt.
Aren't they suppose to be spring loaded and spring back to tighten up with no issues sticking or binding
