Wrong fluid in T-Case

From the manual: ESOF takes XL-12 Transfer Case fluid, torque-on-demand takes Mercon LV.

From the information I have gathered the XL-12 has been discontinued and LV is to be used in its place. I was having a hard time locating the XL that’s when I discovered the change.

Well, I drained the t-case and Mercon LV came out! Guess the previous shop just coded it to 75W-140 for ease of billing. Dodged a major bullet on that one!

Sadly, I sheared off a pan bolt on the transmission from over torquing, but that’s another thread!
