I got the oil pan back on today with a fresh new gasket, I cleaned the mating surfaces and the entire pan inside and out, then hit it with a coat of high temp paint, some of the original paint was disappearing around the drain hole and I wanted to coat it before rust starts.

Also drained the transmission, dropped the pan and changed out the filter. The pan was stamped letting me know that the gasket was re usable. Normally I would have changed it anyways but the gasket that came with the ATP kit was a paper gasket compared to the oem rubber with steel gasket, and the oem gasket wasn't leaking so I cleaned it up and re installed the pan.

I hit both pan flanges with permatex high tack liquid gasket, it really holds onto the gaskets well and adds a little extra insurance against leaking, I don't use it on the block or transmission.

I did however use permatex high heat gasket sealer at each corner of the block where seams are.

I drained and filled the front diff and the transfer case, I did the rear diff a year ago and only drove for 5 months on it so it should be good still.

I went ahead and changed the serpentine belt and the fuel filter, finishing off my maintenance list.

I haven't added oil yet, I'm waiting until the gasket sealer has 24 hours to fully cure before I let oil touch it, I'm really looking forward to going for a drive tomorrow!!efb70a06c9e1cc5274f2e90ba8c142fe.jpg

Did a little towing today. The whole trip was around 6-7hr (3hr there 3-ish hr back). I bought a parts Jeep. The plan is for this jeep to heroically sacrifice its life so that my Jeep can live.

The exped performed flawlessly as usual. I did notice a little idle funky-ness which I have to investigate. I had new tires installed last week and they worked extremely well. No complaints. I think they are 245/70R17 (that is going off the top of my head...so don't quote me on that).

I got the rear hatch repainted (see pic before repair), then took it to MA and back last weekend. From what I read, I got a really good price on the work. Although the paint was bubbling below the rear window, the shop said it was coming off above the window as well. Looks like new now!

Also, apparently the drivers side rear door started collecting a bunch of water over the past couple days so I empties that out this weekend too.

Bought a clear bug shield, taped off the front and painted the back. Couple coats of Ford Colorado red. Then a coat or two white to make the red pop. Then several coats of black. Sunlight doesn't penetrate it at all, and when you look down the hood, all you see is the black. Pretty happy overall, although its not as wide as the smoked bugshield it is replacing.

Wade/Westin brand, about $54 on Amazon, which includes shipping for Prime members.

I think I might try painting the sunroof deflector gloss black. Nobody makes them in clear, and I'm tired of the smoked look.

Installed an led light bar! It's only a 12" cree light bar since I'm on a budget, and it was only 70$.

Thanks! No I haven't had a chance to aim the light yet, iv actually might just bite the bullet and exchange this light for the 20" model today.

It took some persuasion but I got the guy at the warehouse to exchange the 12" for the 20" light bar and I paid the difference. It looks much more appropriate on the expedition given how big the front bumper is.

Pics of it installed in a couple hours and pics of the light output tonight! I'm expecting good things since the 12" was already bright as hell.

The beam is a spot/flood combo, with the spot beam in the center and the flood beam on the left and right sides. You can easily notice the difference by looking at the lights, the spot beam has a smooth reflector surface and the flood reflectors have a stepped design.
