Have you had any motor or transmission issues with the ecoboost, tow much with it? I have a 100k powertrain warranty on mine and plan on keeping it till that warranty is up (67k more miles to go)...

I have towed many times in the 2500 range and 4 times over 6K. Factoring in it is rated over 9K, I didn’t expect any issues and didn’t have any. VA has small mountains, but one of the 6K trips was over several mountain passes with no issues whatsoever. Put in in Tow/Haul and just went.

We had a 15 that was totaled, put about 30K on it, and now have the 17, with almost 20K, no issues with either.

FWIW: I turned over 40,000 miles on my way to work this week....5-6 oil changes, 1 air filter, 1 tire rotation....use the press/release stop method and have zero pulsing in the brakes(which was an issue on both prior trucks) and have never had anything, ANYTHING break or not work as it should.

Now, after 3 more of these 40K reports....if they all read like this one, I'll be happy!

I defended with Numbers and Dyno Data, yet he still ignored it, and redirected to a different manufacturer’s engine. Then said the Chevy 6.2 would get better MPG, yet the EPA numbers are quite the opposite. Still nothing

Looks like you need to look at the MPG numbers again, your expy does NOT get as good fuel economy as the 6.2L, your 2017 eb is rated at 15/19 and the 2017 6.2 Tahoe/Yukon is rated at 14/22 squarely beating out the ecoboost. GM is coming out with a new generation of the 6.2L for 2020 so then we can get a fair mpg matchup on the current. TFL just did some real world testing towing the 6.2 vs ecoboost and the 6.2L returned quite better MPGs.

Who cares. Your an Ecoboost hater, it’s been proven on here time and time again. When you start losing (it’s a debate now remember) you always revert back to the 6.2 or the GM motors to somehow validate your argument. You’re a broken record dude.

I’m now convinced you’re just post *******.

Oh so it’s “who cares” when you’re wrong? It’s ok I get it, you’re a N/A V8 hater..... you’ve shown that many times. Love my 5.4L!

Nope. I don’t go in the posts about mechanical issues on the 5.4, and start trashing it. You do every time somebody mentions an issue with the EB.

Again, owned 2, loved them. Have moved on to newer, more powerful things. I don’t trash the V8’s, I just enjoy my Turbos and their power potential.

I don’t recall going in an ecoboost problem thread and commenting badly on it but ok.... I don’t “trash their reliability” my first comment here was “I wouldn’t say it’s an inferior product”. It’s not a bad motor it’s not my choice and I gave my reasons, and you gave yours.

Oh, My bad I compared current vehicle to current vehicle. 2018 to 2018. Was that too hard for you to comprehend?

So a 2500 class truck did better at towing than a 1500 truck? Really, I am surprised. [emoji57]. Dude, I love TFL and I liked the comparison, but not surprised.

Loki it was a Yukon Denali vs 2018 Expedition..... there was no 3/4 ton. 2018 V. 2018. Again I don’t hate the ecoboost it’s just not my choice, it’s a reliable powerful platform..... and I’ve said it a dozen times on here.

Yet EVERY thread that mentions a bad impression or issue with the EB you trash it. Nobody will disagree with me on that except you.

You say you don’t but multiple times you have made statements quite to the opposite.

Moving on. Thanks for the distraction for the past few days. Gotta go make some money...so I can buy the mythical 6.2 in the Expedition when they release it!
