Once more 2020's lay on their lots, then they'll dump the 19's cheaper.

I get the concept, but there are plenty of Ford and Lincoln dealers with brand-spankin' new 2018's sitting outside next to the 19's AND 20's... Good thing they all look alike I guess.

Wasn't that long ago I saw new "leftover" 17's.

Yep. No doubt.

Personally, I don’t wait to buy leftovers. It’s a choice for those who are stretching to afford the model. Whatever the incentives are, it doesn’t come close to make up for the extra year of depreciation that you instantly lose by buying last years truck.
If you can afford an 80K truck, a few bucks one way or another won’t change your life. Buy what you want and don’t settle over the scraps.

I just ordered a 2020 F-350 Limited. I could have bought a 19’ for almost 6k cheaper. Huge power and interior improvements and a redesigned diesel..no chance I buy the old truck.

I can’t wait to drive the new 7.3 big block gas job, should be fast being lighter than the 6.2 gas burner and the power boost. Seeing as the 6.2L gas just about matches the diesel 0-60, Id bet the 7.3 is the fastest out of the box being the lightest/ biggest engine. No diesel expense, 90% of torque at 1,500 RPM, sounds amazing. Ding ding we have a winner. These new trucks are great.

Depreciation will only be materially different in a model change year. 18s-19’s are identical. Gonna either save up front and lose in the end or lose up front and save in the end anyway.

The money isn’t the issue...just don’t think a Lincoln is worth $95k and am not willing to pay that.

Well, not quite.
The gas 7.3 makes less than half (475)lbs. of the new diesel torque, and it’s made at over 4,000 rpm where it’s basically useless.
The redesigned diesel? 1,050 lbs. at 1,800.
Actually most are disappointed in the 7.3L numbers, but it’s got to be better than the 6.2L gasser.

The 7.3 gas makes over 400 lb ft by 1,500 RPM. The diesel is crazy heavy and reduces payload significantly, the gas job 6.2 pretty much accelerates the same empty if you race the two (have done). Empty I’ll bet money the 7.3 will leave the diesel behind since it revs to 6 grand.

The gas are great for fun factor, but when you work them hard, the diesel is what you want. I know a lot of guys just won't buy a diesel for whatever reason, so the big gas is probably a good idea. Ford sold the heck out of that big gutless V10, just because it sounded good on paper.

Yeah, that’s pretty accurate. It sounded good on paper, and it was cheap.
Diesel buyers buy torque. Not only for towing, but at 75 mph, there is a ton of pulling power available when the gasser is spent.

The general consensus of the new 7.3L is very disappointing. Lots of hype, but not really the engine numbers that were considered acceptable for the overrated hype.
The new 7.3L will be just as gutless as the old V-10, but will probably beat 8MPG of the V-10.
