I wish I’d get something. ANYTHING. Ordered March 5th, and not so much as a single email. I did call to confirm they at least got the request, and it’s in there. Just says “Unscheduled.”

I want to book my vacation, but don’t want to commit until I know I can actually get there in the vehicle I don’t yet own. This is torture.

Email:
“THE PRODUCTION DATE FOR YOUR VEHICLE HAS CHANGED.”
Well, at least you got an email because some of the members were saying earlier that Ford was supposedly suspending emails until further notice. I was curious as I didn’t receive an email tonight, so as of right now I guess I’m still scheduled for the week of 4/25. Fingers crossed!

Book your vacation. Many of us here ordered it January and earlier, but haven’t heard anything.

Mid as well book it. I ordered in November with an original build date of Feb 14. Went on spring break trip to the mountains and drove my current Expedition. Now I have another 2 week trip Planned for June/July to the Mountains. Looks like I will be driving my current Expedition to that as well. All they are doing is hurting my trade in by adding so many more miles to it. Enjoy life now and book the trip.

Very negative note today... Analysts are estimating Ford had secured less than 1/3rd of the parts it needs to build vehicles at the start of the year.
As a comparison, normal years, they secure 75%+ of the full year need before the start of the year, with negotiated delivery and pricing.

“Ford appears vulnerable to the ongoing chip shortage (which hit pickup production and likely commodity inflation) as we believe it came into 2022 with only ~ 1/3rd of its commodity needs locked in – and since then prices have spiked,” said analyst Brian Johnson. “Despite the selloff, we believe investors are still underestimating risks to the sector – and in particular to suppliers – from inflation and production pressures – as well as the impact of interest rate hikes on portfolio allocations.”

I have to say that this entire ordering process has made me lose faith in Ford. I currently own a 22 Bronco and a 19 Expedition. I ordered a new Expedition on 11/2. I knew that it would be a bit of a wait but this has been truly ridiculous. It is not that there are production delays, given the issues in the world I expected delays, it is more about the lack of communication or ability to get any real information on the production. I received and email on 2/3 that my car was being built the week of 2/14. Starting mid Feb., the Ford tracker tool listed in production. For weeks the status stayed the same. I made calls to the Ford marketing center and my dealer and they had no further information. On 3/14 the in production date changed to 3/14. It has remained in this status for three weeks now. I contacted my dealer and their system showed that the truck would be delivered between 3/30 and 4/5. Last week I called the marketing center and twice I was told that the Hold status would be lifted and the truck would be shipped this week. As of today, the truck is still in a hold status. Now I am hearing that they are removing options and sending vehicles out incomplete. I have asked for a supervisor call back numerous times. The marketing center states that a supervisor will call back within 48 hours. I have never received a call back. I have called the Ford executive office and have been put into a voicemail box at least 3 different times. The message states that someone will call back within 1 business day, no call ever received. All I want to know is 1.) when will the parts be in to finish my truck? 2.) will I receive a complete (finished) vehicle or will there be items that will be left of with a promise to finish later? If I receive the answers to my questions then I can make a decision if I want to wait or move on to another vehicle from another manufacturer. Ford customer service is terrible. I have worked for large multinational corporations for my entire career and have never seen such a ridiculous customer experience. There is no one, Ford Dealer, Ford Marketing Center, Executive Offices, etc. that can provide any information to allow customers to make informed decisions.

Also, Ford is allowing vehicles to slip out of the factory into the hands of dealers. These are not special order vehicles that a consumer has not picked up but rather stock orders for dealerships. These dealer inventory cars are being sold for over MSRP. Ford knows about it and is condoning it. The general view on this forum seems to be oh well I guess I will just have to wait and put up with the horrible customer service. If that is the choice of the customer that is ok. My patience is wearing thin. I don't know how much longer I can support a company that shows a complete lack of consideration for its customers. This is more than just a parts issue, this is an overall management breakdown.
Almost the exact same situation as you...

Ordered a KR Max on 10/29 with a build date of 2/14. Went into production (via the tracker on 2/8) and then nothing until 3/14. Went back into production on 3/14 and dealer/Ford marketing said it had a chip hold but had a delivery date of 4/1 - 4/7. That date has now passed and there isn't anyone that can provide an update. I took delivery of my Bronco last year and have a wave 1 Lightning order, so I'm not new to Ford, but this experience is beyond frustrating.

If you found any way to escalate or get some answers, I'd love to hear what you've found out.

Is it time to start looking at a Wagoneer? (Don't boot me from the forum).
I need the towing ability of the Expy. Wagoneer is the only one that matches (actually bests...). It's sort of ugly in my view but I could get over that. They'll also be putting the new twin turbo 6 cyl Hurrincaine engine to match the EcoBoost. Interesting, at least.

That's crazy. I am assuming you tried calling Marketing and asking them if there is an updated delivery ETA? Although, I don't think the info they have is the most up to date. I called them this morning after receiving the delay email from Ford. They are telling me their system still shows an ETA of 4/29. Which is not feasible at all at this point.

This is my window sticker, it has sense disappeared from the tracking site. My blend date says 3/23/22. And it shows convey so what does that mean?

Convoy means it will ship by truck, buuuuuut, it will probably actually go by rail. Almost all do. I can see your window sticker if I search for it directly. I can’t see my Navigator sticker using the link on the tracking website either. However, I can find it when entering my VIN directly.

Try pasting your VIN at the end of this link:

Yes, been talking to them frequently. They don't have anything else they can do other than refer me back to the dealer. Originally they said if that delivery window passes, to call them back and they'd be able to help, but they don't have any options according to the person I spoke with this morning.

@momof3girls @Cadet7263 The date you circled is the date it was sent to the plant to be built. CA21 is a regional code for shipping. @xraymd is correct above. Convoy means truck, however like me, mine says convoy but I live in the Phoenix area and it will actually go by rail, but end up being trucked from the railyard to the dealer. So it depends on where your dealer is. Hope that helps.

It does, Thank you. I am sure I am a ways away though from mine actually being shipped. Got to wait for the "Chips" to come in.

Keeping my fingers crossed, but not holding my breath, that new production dates will be issued next week. Even if I have to wait a couple more months or so, I just want to have a production date.

Well, just got off the phone with Ford marketing awhile ago and they said I have a (tentative) scheduled production date of 4/28! I called the sales manager at the local Ford house to try and get some validity to the 4/28 build date through their system. Turns out the 5/9 date that the salesman has been telling me this whole time wasn’t the week of production date but rather the projected delivery of the vehicle to the dealership! I’ll believe it when I see it but at least I have an actual build day. Finally a little light at the end of the tunnel!
