Will high flow cats for a 95 mustang work on an expedition? I got some that I'm not using and thought about putting them on so I don't have to order any 2mrw

Even easier than that. They make spark plug non foulers that you can use. Supposedly its the same thread and you just screw it into the port for the O2 sensor in the exhaust then screw the 02 sensor into that. It spaces the O2 sensor out far enough away from the exhaust that it reads as normal. Definately worth a shot, they're cheap.

On one of my old trucks. I installed a little rotating switch that I wired between the o2 sensor and the wire harness.

The o2 runs on like 0 to 5 ohms. You could probly find out form the dealer or auto parts. Then find a little rotating switch that varys in ohms in the range of the sensor. This will give you a chance to fool the computer. if you turn it down. it should put less fuel in the system and turn it up should give more fuel into the system. remeber the o2 will still give a reading off to threw the switch. but when the o2 says to much fuel and the switch is turn up for more fuel. The truck will give a even more fuel.

with the cats cleaned out. their will be a lot of unburnt fuel and the o2 will tell the computer that it needs to use less fuel.

So. no matter what. their is a good chance it may use more or less fuel into the system and their is a small chance of some engine damage. though this may not be a big problem. My off road truck has a cleaned out cat. been that way for bout 15 years with no problem. though it gained 2 MPG more then it did before.

I used the spacer (non fouler) on my Infiniti G35 that was running headers, and test pipes (no cats at all) and would get a check engine light once in a blue moon after flogging the car. I just went to O'reilly's to borrow the scan tool and it was reset for another several months.

I'm thinking about putting my high flow cats on the truck that came off my old 95 mustang and was wondering if they would work? The cats are on a 2 1/2" h pipe and I don't know the size the expeditions y pipes are.

My '02 runs 2 1/4" stock pipes and yes the high flows should work with out a problem. You will loose a little power (tq) on the lower end, but it makes up for it in the top end (hp) and a slight fuel economy increase! It will also not shift out of OD as much on slight inclines due to the increased top end hp.

I only have the 2 stock front cats and straight pipe in place of the rears and I still leave chevys (unloaded) off the line when pullin a LOADED 18' trailer.

You will not loose a lot on the lower end, but you WILL REALLY gain on the upper end. The high flows should work pretty good, you may loose a little more on the low end but it will definatly help on top end and also on fuel economy.

As far as the pipe size difference, just go to your local parts store and pickup a couple of adapters to go from the 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 you may spend less than $10 on adapters and use what you already have since those cats are spendy.

Ok, here's what I might try to do if. I want to leave the 2 back ones on, but gutted and replace the front 2. Do I measure and put the front 2 back in same spot or does it matter? Did you weld them back on or use clamps? Thanks

How much did you pay for that setup, I would like to do something like that and the exhaust shops around here are all saying $400 and up just to replace from the muffler back!

I would like to cut out the rear cats and run a dual in dual out muffler (magnaflow or flowmaster) with both pipes exiting in the stock location with a Harley F150 look to it. Kinda like this

We just got this 97 Eddie Bauer Expedition about a month ago and was told that the cats were no good. We got truck towed here and put new batt in and started it and didn't run to good so I changed the plugs, a few coil packs just because a had few new ones here, fuel pump, fuel filter, air filter, cleaned tb, cleaned the mass air, and a few other thinks were checked and then unhooked the y pipe because truck didn't run right and couldn't drive it because of the way it ran, but it runs without the y pipe but didn't let run to long for the fear of burning a valve. I looked at the converters and noticed that the pass side 2 were gutted and not the drive side. I'm wanting to replace the front 2 and gut the other back one and leave like that, but I don't think the 2 cats that I have here will go in place of the other 2 fronts because they are kinda long and straight. I don't know what to do. I don't know if the front 2 need to go back in same spot near the 02s or what.

If I where you I would gut your front 2 so your angle stays the same, and then replace the rear 2 with the cats that you have ( or have some pipe bent up to match the front angle) the o2 is before the cat on the fronts and after on the rears so it really dosn't matter the placement as long as there is atleast one cat on each side between the two o2 sensors.

If you have access to a welder or a buddy with one that would be your best bet because with the high heat clamps tend to fail or come loose and the pipe will slip out under tq.
