Hi

I am a Verizon guy and will not continue the ATT free trial for the hotspot but want to change to Verizon.

Did anybody do this? how much does it cost? Where do I find the IMEI?

Thanks

Good luck. Even if you could find/change the SIM I wouldn't assume that the modem has the correct bands for the Verizon network.

In the US, Sprint, Verizon, and US Cellular use CDMA. AT&T and T-Mobile use GSM. Most of the rest of the world uses GSM. The global spread of GSM came about because in 1987, Europe mandated the technology by law, and because GSM comes from an industry consortium.

And since it is a AT&T Hotspot, you will not get Verizon to work on that hotspot.

It's actually even more complicated, and unless you know the specific AT&T bands used, even if you manage to unlock it there's no guarantee it'll work stably even with Tmob... some bands overlap, others don't

But if it's GSM it won't work with CDMA

I get that you want to change the car's built-in hotspot to Verizon, and that doesn't seem like an easy task, so would you consider just getting a Verizon jetpack/mifi device? You can get them for $30, plug it into any of the many usb ports, and you're golden.

thanks all.

Ford, I called them, said, AT&T is exclusive (and Bell in CA). So no way.

A modem in the USB is not really golden. As, I assume, not using the external antenna on the roof. I can just use my mobile to tether....

(As I will be often in NM, and ATT is especially bad there, there is no way I pay their data package, even, if I pay for 2years in advance, and unlimited, the price is very reasonable, $480)
