    Yea mine had these codes when I first bought it. Like said the culprit was the elbow behind the throttle body. I bought 2 hoses from Ford and the rough idle went away and got better MPG. You can drive it forever with those codes and have no major drivability issues.

    PO171 PO174 are intake leaks. Check the PCV hoses that come off the valve covers to the intake. They usually rot at the rubber elbows and throw off the MAF sensor setting a code.

    Yea water and ford engines = misfire. Like said above.. Let it dry or pull out all the coils and blow the holes out with air.

    This is a 5.4L right? I don't see what the exhaust manifold has anything to do with it misfiring. Did they print out a diagnostic sheet for you? I know it's common for the manifolds to leak at the back of the heads but I'm not buying its causing your misfire.

    Did all of mine. It took about 40 minutes being experienced with 5.4's. Remove all the coils then blow the holes out with compressed air because they collect dirt. Then get to work with extensions and swivels.

    You guys know of any way to make the dome lights shut off after a minute of leaving a door open? If not then I'll figure out how to switch it. I know on some fords you can put in a "code" to activate something like cycling key switch and such. 97 expedition 5.4 4x4.

    Thank you Sir. The leak causes a misreading with the mass air flow. Thus resulting rough idle and codes. I've noticed it's runs much smoother and actually gained better mpg. I did not take numbers on the gain but I've noticed it's using less with my routine driving.

    Do a compression check on that hole. If its any less than 100psi then you will have to do a leak down test to see where it's going. Make sure it's on compression stroke for the 2nd test.

    Just got 2nd one in today for the driver side. This hose go's from valve cover to intake tube. Very easy to install. Part # 2L1Z-6758-GA from Ford.

    Stock suspension rebuild a DIY?

    My trailing arms are rusted also. I'd recommend just replace them since they are already made out of thin material or just step it up and get some beef aftermarkets.
