Hey everyone i'm very happy to be apart of your forum and a first time ford expedition owner. My ford expedition was used by my dads transportation company since it was purchased and eventually replaced by a mercedes R350. The vehicle has almost 300K miles on the clock and i'm trying to figure out what engine is ideal for me to swap into this SUV (besides the 5.4L triton). My max budget is in 10 grand or under range.

What are your plans and budget for it?

Not sure if it will work cause i havent really looked at the 07-12 but the 6.8 is a pretty simple swap compared to the PSD.

are you going to drive it till it blows up? because thats what i would do...
after that,
lightning swap
6.8
ecoboost
6.2
6.7 PSD
7.3PSD
even a 6.4 or 6.0 would be good if you sent it to powerstrokehelp and had them bullet proof it before you put it in...

I've narrowed it down to the ecoboost and coyote. Also nice expedition by the way :).

I would say a 7.3 PSD mostly cause i want to do it myself but until i blow mine up the wife is never going to let me spend that kind of cash or time on my truck lol. that and diesels run forever and a day and plenty of power. but form what i have looked in to it it will require the whole drive train if i am not mistaken if i am please some one let me know because if i can bolt a 7.3 or 6.0 up to my AODE-W or 4R70W idk what one i have lol. but anyway i want to see one done. good luck with what ever you decide. if anyone else wanting to know here is a bit of info i would assume it goes along with the expo as well seeing as the f-150 and the expo are similar. http://www.f150online.com/forums/v8-engines/413659-convert-f150-diesel.html this leads me to believe a 7.3 would need not only a full drive train swap but suspension as well. but ive played with the idea before and figured i would need a whole donor truck to take everything from. it would almost be easier to just swap the bodies from the two lol..... ill stop post jacking now. sorry.
